Fixed Bridges

The replacement of one or two teeth can be accomplished by using a fixed bridge.  This prosthesis can be made from different materials such as precious and non-precious metals, ceramics, or zirconium. These materials can be used alone or in combination with each other to make an extremely strong and aesthetic prosthesis.

Before the bridge can be placed there must be space prepared for its placement. The teeth beside the edentulous area (missing teeth space) must be prepared for crowns (caps) to hold the tooth or teeth that will be replaced. Next, an impression of the preparation is made to send to one of our experienced labs to fabricate the prosthesis.  A temporary bridge is then made and the patient is scheduled to have the prosthesis seated.  Normally it takes approximately 3 weeks to get the finished fixed bridge back to the office. We will then place and cement the fixed bridge to the natural tooth structure.

Implant Supported Bridge

If the area is very large it may require the placement of an implant supported fixed bridge. This eliminates the need to prepare virgin teeth to restore the large area. This also places proper pressure on the bone to preserve the bony ridge.
